Great attendance at this year’s National Security Training Summit with nearly 200 local officers, stewards and members!

The two-day training program focused on Union Leadership and Membership Representation.  Special speakers included John A. Lyons, Attorney/Arbitrator, who provided an insight on “Unions – Best Prepared Arbitrations”;  NLRB Regional Director, Stephen Glassar and Pat Labadie; Department of Labor Wage and Hour, Lawrence Hintz; and Federal Mediation & Conciliation Services, James Statham.  Dwight Duley, International Secretary/Treasurer and Laura Haynes, CPA, delivered a Finance Overview highlighting compliance requirements and regulations.  Gene McConville, President Emeritus and Gordon Gregory, General Counsel presented a hands-on training and demonstration of Grievance Writing and Labor Laws.  Gail Fuestel, VP Labor Relations, G4S, gave the company perspective on Presenting a Grievance, and Bill Pace, Manager, Labor Relations, Walt Disney World, addressed the importance of Labor/Management Relations.  A Legal Report was given by Scott Brooks, SPFPA Trust Attorney, and SPFPA Benefits Updates were presented by Henry Lakes, Humanomics.   Dan Clayton, President, Local 127, presented President Hickey and Gordon Gregory a Special Recognition Award on behalf of Local 127.
