Special Force Training

President David L. Hickey announced the creation and development of the SPFPA Special Force Team for the purpose of assisting with service to Locals and members through contract administration, grievance preparation and processing, preparation for arbitration, processing government reports and organizing. The training was lead by General Counsel, Gordon A. Gregory, President Emeritus, Gene McConville, Sr. Advisor, International Vice President, Dwight Duley, Dennis T. Eck, International Secretary Treasurer and International President, David L. Hickey.

Members of the Special Force Team received intensive training at the International Union in basic labor law, contract administration, grievance writing and processing, preparation for arbitration, internal union affairs, and other subjects relevant to their responsibilities such as the Service Contract Act. Special Force training was rigorous and members were tested on a pass or fail basis. The dedicated people that stand together and have successfully completed training thus far are: Tim Corry, Don Eagle, Scott Harger, Fortunato Lechuga, Kevin Otto, Dwayne Phillips, Tony Seefeld, Lou Tartack, Duke Woolley, Harold Trigg, and Ron Upton.

Recruitment of Special Force Team members will continue, and additional training sessions implemented. “The Special Force Team program demonstrates that a union is us. It’s you, me and our brothers and sisters working in solidarity”, stated International President David L. Hickey; and “I thank you all for your continued support and loyalty to our great organization.”
